I am a broadly experienced biopharma investor and leader. Currently, I am Chief Executive Officer of Memgen, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on harnessing the immune system for the treatment of cancer. Previously, I was a co-founder of HealthCare Royalty Partners and remain a member of the Senior Advisor Board of HCR. Educated as a transplantation immunologist and trained as a thoracic and vascular surgeon, I practiced thoracic and vascular surgery in a community setting where I also founded and led an HMO. My career has gained me experience and expertise in the scientific, technical, clinical and medical evaluation of products. I have been involved in sourcing, diligencing and closing more than $1 billion of royalty financings. Before co-founding HealthCare Royalty Partners, I was a partner at Paul Capital Partners, where I co-managed that firm's royalty investments as a member of the royalty management committee. Prior to beginning my principal investment career in 2003, I was co-head of investment banking and head of healthcare at Adams, Harkness & Hill (now Canaccord Genuity) and a biotechnology research analyst at Vector Securities International. I earned my B.A. from Yale, my M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical Center and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. I currently serve on the boards of Aquestive Therapeutics, Inc.; Lisata Therapeutics, Inc,; and Memgen, Inc.
