I have worked in several different fields and change careers about every 10 to 12 years. I love to use the various skills I've acquired over the years to do new and exciting things. While working in public education I have switched between special education and technology a few times.Before I began a career in education I worked in the video and photography world. I worked on TV commercials, training films, freelance work for CBS and ABC, and a variety of other video related assignments. As a photographer I have done portraiture, sports and varied events. I still keep a hand in this arena as I do many video and photographic projects for my school district. In 2001 my school was the first in the United States to have our morning announcements on the Internet every day. The cast and crew were made of of second graders.I have written a local history book called Blount Springs, Alabama's Fountain of Youth, exploring its days as a show piece of Alabama. It was known as the "Saratoga of the South". A glorious history belongs to this storied place and I have attempted to tell it. It was published in March of 2014 and has sold over 1,000 copies. Far more than I ever hoped for, but it has been a great experience!
