▶ Strategies, programs, projects and initiatives are only as successful as the relationships between the people bringing them to life. I’ve found this to be true time and again throughout my tenure as an entrepreneur, nonprofit board leader, and in many years working globally and cross-culturally in corporate, including:✓ ENTREPRENEURSHIP: I co-own a sports organization that prepares young men for college athletics, overseeing management, strategy, operations, staffing, facilities management and travel. We’ve achieved a placement rate into college programs of 85% in past two years.✓ CORPORATE LEADERSHIP: As Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing for Mativ, I worked cross-culturally and aligned all functions within a $330M business to expand into 80 countries, grow the innovation pipeline to $90M, achieve 95% on-time-in-full order delivery, exceed revenue and profit budgets/forecasts – all by creating sustainable business relationships. I’ve been the go-to person that could always bring all teams, cultures, new bosses, new divisions, and global customers to a common ground where solutions and progress were possible.✓ NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP: As an eight-year board member and board VP, I helped raise $950K in two years to construct a new facility via community donations, corporate participation, and grant awards for the Garden Hills Pool & Park Association. I’ve also raised funds and developed partnerships on behalf of numerous educational and community youth sports organizations including Brandon Halls High School, St. Pious X Catholic High School, Buckhead Baseball, and Dugout Dads. ▶ THRIVING AT THE INTERSECTION OF STRATEGY + EXECUTIONI’ve been successful not only as a leader, but also as a team player, within small and large organizations. I don’t want to just set the strategy then have others take over – I enjoy the dual aspect of also rallying the team to deliver (or over-deliver) what we envisioned and set out to do.▶ MY NEXT CHAPTERAs I retire from my corporate career at Mativ, I’m seeking to contribute my unique combination of experience to benefit a nonprofit organization and the people it serves. Volunteering has been a part of my life for many years now, and I’m excited to be at a point in my life where I can make nonprofit work my full-time focus.
