Semefab is a silicon semiconductor Fab which is a clean room environment. In my current position within the process engineering team I am expected to take part in and complete many different jobs on a daily basis including new process integration, new tool installations, complete non-conformance reports and 8D investigations, deal with inline issues to ensure product is kept moving through the line, analyse and improve process Cp/Cpk, continual improvement projects and communicate with customers. More recently I have been involved in running DRIE (deep reactive ion etching) process integrations for new and existing customers.

This role involved the testing and repair of Virgin Media set top boxes and wireless modems. I did various roles on the production line including testing, shipping and line co-ordinator. I eventually progressed to a role doing solder repairs on set top box PCB’s. During my time here I was also involved in the Kaizen team as well as helping develop prototype in-field testers for Virgin Media.

In my short time here I progressed from being store assistant to store assistant manager. In this role I was running shifts, doing money counts, stock checks and opening/ locking up.
