After having practiced as a Certified Management Accountant for most of my working life I made a decision in 2008 to undergo a career change and turn my passion for the outdoors into a business and launched Great Horned Owl Eco Tours. In order to deliver unique and experiential tours I have become very driven to understand all of the plants and animals which reside here along with Natural History, geology and issues surrounding water sustainability and climate change. Another gem about the Okanagan that isn't too well known is bird watching; with over 300 species the Okanagan is one of the premiere bird watching areas in all of Canada. As an avid birdwatcher, when guests go on my bird watching tour one of my goals is to find for them a "Life Bird". A third component is an adventure tour to the Mascot Gold Mine in Hedley, where one is exposed the inner workings of an underground mine, included with this tour is gold panning in the Similkameen River. My vision is to create a World Class Ecotourism business, along the way I have developed a superior risk management program and well designed itineraries, which inspire, educate and entertain. Guests are left with a strong message that we need to create a sustainable environment and how we can make a difference in protecting and saving our planet.
