Senior GeoscientistEl Toro Resources Llc Aug 2020 - PresentGeoscientist incorporating seismic, geologic, core, and petrophysical data for new developmental wells. Manage data, oversee geologic operations on new wells, and evaluates areas for potential expansion and investment.• Generate and use seismic attributes, and detailed horizon picking to identify geologic features, which have proven to be productive and led to a 235% increase in avg. monthly production. • Interpret seismic data, by loading wells and logs, tying well data to the seismic with synthetics and check shot surveys. Picking horizons and faults in order to generate time, depth and isotime maps for development planning.• Select formation tops and generate maps based on geological, geophysical and petrophysical data. Use that data to determine new drilling locations in South Texas and Alberta CA.• Oversee geosteering and mud logging operations on actively drilling wells. Load and update geologic data, including well data, well logs, frac data and production data.• Contribute to planning a drilling program to develop the new drilling targets. • Evaluate M&A packages in the Eagle Ford/Austin Chalk, Anadarko, Arkoma, Marietta and Appalachian Basins.• Evaluate upcoming lease sales for oil sands properties in Alberta CA and assist in determining the bid price. Through this process, Grizzly Oil Sands acquired 30k+ new acres for development. Proposed 10k new acres to be nominated for the lease sale process. -
Geophysicist | GeologistGulfport Energy Corporation May 2006 - Nov 2019Director of Geosciences, Midcon (2016 – 2019)Geoscience Manager Appalachia (2013 – 2016)Geoscientist (2006 – 2013)• Generated a plan to test multi-bench development in a drilling unit of the Caney, Sycamore and Woodford formations. That included locations, trajectories and targeting of the laterals.• Utilized Petrel, Geographix with subsurface geologic and seismic data to develop a geo-cellular model of the Carter-Knox structure and Gulfport’s SCOOP asset.• Developed a plan to for the complete future development of the SCOOP asset. The plan included horizontal well locations and trajectories.• Proposed, planned, and managed the geologic operations of a successful Sycamore well. (Serenity 5- 22H, 22.6 Bcf EUR) The well was designed as the first well in the area to test the viability of the Sycamore as a productive target.• Picked seismic horizons and stratigraphic tops in well logs in order to depth migrate two seismic volumes.• Used Petrel software to complete a 3D petrophysical, geomechnical and structural model of the Utica play to determine OGIP and to be used for fracture modeling.• Used Spotfire and Petrel software to analyze: geologic, drilling, completion and production data in a large analytical model to determine well spacing and enhance completion techniques.• Geosteer multiple wells at a time while communicating with the drilling and Directional Drillers and mud loggers in the drilling of horizontal wells.• Used well logs and 3D seismic to map oil and gas reservoirs at West Cote Blanche Bay Field and East Hackberry Field in South Louisiana.• Oversaw geologic operations on up to 4 active drilling rigs, which included wireline logging and mud logging.• Designed, contracted and oversaw the acquisition of 10 mi of 2D and 50 sq miles of 3D seismic data in Moffat County, Colorado. -
GeophysicistParsons Corporation May 2001 - May 2006• Performed environmental investigations at Dugway Proving Grounds, Tooele Army Depot, F.E. Warren AFB and Tinker AFB. Investigations included geophysical surveys, drilling and logging with direct-push, hollow stem auger and sonic rigs. • Completed a 3D groundwater/geologic model using EVS/MVS in Tooele County Utah• Worked as the Site Geophysicist and Site Manager for Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) projects at the Badlands Bombing Range South Dakota, American University and Camp Sibert Alabama Projects.• Oversaw the construction of two remote camps in Iraq built with purpose of securing and destroying captured munitions. Provided the daily management of camps including food, water, sanitation, camp maintenance, vehicle maintenance, managing the local workforce and equipment.
