At age 22, Greg Chapman traveled to India to find himself in the midst of Bombay's elite upper class. Along with romance and adventure, Greg discovered the benefits of the British tailoring techniques, as taught to and preserved by the Indian tailors in Bombay. Having modeled and sold clothes through college, Greg quickly recognized the superior image provided by British trained Indian tailors. This "transforming" experience and the consistency of perfect fit without fittings, alterations or shopping, ignited the idea to bring his discovery to busy American executives. Beginning business in 1968, as Executive Tailored Clothes, Greg and his wife Raju's career found early success with a passionate salesforce of 12, allowing them to acquire their own overseas workshop as well as their 45 year shop just south of Wilshire on Robertson Blvd. shop in Beverly Hills. His unique idea for a Wardrobe Plan Program, allowed him to combine a loyal clientele with a team of lifetime career tailors. As his eye for uncompromising quality developed, Greg invested in taking his Italian Master tailor to Hong Kong, to teach the superior techniques of workmanship to his British trained Chinese pattern making tailors. The result, is the impossible to find combination of perfect fit and the stunning look of life long lasting quality! Today, some 80% of his orders are placed by phone, from swatches, with new clients as well as those last seen 30 and 40 years ago! Most have never required a single fitting or alteration, made possible by his formulas for adjusting the fit to wide swings in both client's sizes, as well as changes in styles. Greg continues to work with passion, bringing 5 decades of experience to every new client.
