Greg has experience in civil and structural engineering with approximately 24 years of design, construction and contract experience. Greg’s expertise includes concept and detailed design, structural assessment and reporting, project management, leadership, contract administration and construction supervision on both structural and civil projects. Greg has worked on a range of projects from residential, commercial and industrial through to large civil and structural works for various local government and institutional clients, which includes buildings, bridges, public infrastructure and heavy civil engineering projects. Greg has been Engineer’s Representative on a number of NZTA projects and project manager or design lead on a number of significant projects.Since the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquake events, Greg has conducted or overseen hundreds of structural inspections, assessments and reporting for private property owners, local government authorities, Civil Defence and insurers to assist with damage assessment, repairs and earthquake claims. Greg has undertaken, overseen and signed off Initial Seismic Assessments (ISA) or Detailed Seismic Assessments (DSA) involving inspections, reporting and strengthening for various commercial and industrial buildings in Christchurch and around the country.Greg has been engaged as an expert witness to provide engineering advice to the High Court of New Zealand on matters associated with earthquake damage of buildings and the associated remediation. As part of his role being on the Engineering New Zealand Christchurch Earthquake Expert Engineering Panel, Greg has completed peer reviews, been a facilitator in approximately 30 cases, and the chair or members engineering expert in court as part of the Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal.
