Asked to take on a new role for the UK and Ireland zone leading our work on M&A, Innovation and Government Affairs. A disparate mix on the surface but all about raising the brand of Schneider Electric in the fast pace world of start-ups, acquiring new and emerging technologies that compliment our digital, connected offerings and working with Government to help drive a green sustainable agenda for smart technologies across energy management and automation.

I was very pleased to be asked to take up the post of head of strategy for the UK and Ireland zone at the beginning of October 2018. The role includes responsibility for Strategy, Government Affairs and scenario planning across the Schneider Electric portfolio for the zone. In the absence of a chief of staff, I have also taken on our sales excellence programme and many other activities in support of the president of the zone.

In the wake of Brexit, I was asked by our chief strategy officer to join his team, Group Strategy and Government Affairs, to build a competency around scenario planning. To develop corporate scenario planning from a geo-political view, an industry specific view and also taking into consideration black swans into our normal strategic planning cycle. In addition, adding new responsibilities for government affairs work in the UK and the rest of Europe including Russia while continuing as a thought leader for Schneider Electric in the Industrial IoT space.

Senior VP, Head of Strategy, Schneider Electric Industrial Business Unit (Continuous employment with Schneider Electric through the Invensys acquisition from November 1998.)Appointed SVP, Head of Strategy in April 2014, functionally Chief Strategy Officer for the Industry Business Unit of Schneider Electric. Industry Business unit revenue in 2014 was 5.6bn euros.Head of Global Business Develop for the Invensys Systems LOB: January 2013 to April 2014. Responsible for developing and executing growth strategies related to licensing, partnerships and distributions agreements around the globe. The initial focus of this effort was in China developing new partners and strengthening existing relationships. Concurrently from September 2013 to April 2014 was the Invensys lead on the integration with Schneider Electric through the deal close and the end of Invensys’ last full fiscal year.Appointed VP, Office of the CEO, in March 2011, functionally Chief of Staff, upon appointment of new CEO of Invensys at the same time – until being asked to lead our China strategy at the end of 2012.
