Greg Constantine is an American-Canadian documentary photographer currently based in British Columbia. He is a multiple grantee of the Oak Foundation, National Endowment for Democracy, Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting, NEO Philanthropy, Open Society Foundations and the Independent Social Research Foundation in the UK. He has spent 20 years dedicated to the long-term global projects exploring the intersection of human rights, inequality, injustice, identity, genocide and the power of the state. He is the author of three books, including, ‘Kenya’s Nubians: Then & Now’ and ‘Nowhere People’ and ‘Exiled To Nowhere: Burma's Rohingya', which were named Notable Photo Book of the Year by the Independent on Sunday, Mother Jones and PDN Magazine. Solo exhibitions have been held in more the 30 cities.His work has been recognized in: Pictures of the Year International, Osborn Elliott Prize for Journalism in Asia, Society of Publishers in Asia, Allard Prize for Photography, BOP Best of Photojournalism, Days Japan, Harry Chapin Media Award, among others. Exhibitions of his work have been shown in: UN Headquarters and powereHouse Arena in NYC, Kennedy Center & US Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, Royal Alberta Hall, HOST Gallery & Atruim Gallery at LSE in London, Palace of Fine Arts in Budapest, Palais des Nations and Plaine de Plainepalais in Geneva, BBVA Gallery in Madrid, Peace Palace in The Hague, Go Down Arts Centre in Nairobi, Galata Fotografhanesi in Istanbul, as well as in Bangkok, Tokyo, Jakarta, Busan and Hong Kong. Recent academic fellowships from Independent Social Research Foundation in the UK include an Independent Scholar (2017-18) and Early Career Fellowship (2022-2023).In early 2017, he received his PhD from Middlesex University in the UK. In 2017, he was an Artist in Residence on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. Currently based in BC, Canada.
