Manufacturing Manager for Indorama Ventures Integrated Oxide and Olefins.

Responsible for all aspects of Project Management. Duties include leading project team to deliver all phases of project development, execution, and commissioning. Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of capital project and corporate initiatives. Led the development and completion of Huntsman’s two largest capital projects in the United States.Led HPP North America Project Synthesis SAP Maintenance/Project Systems improvement initiative. Project consisted of education workshops, system enhancements, and final training to improve and enhance the utilization of SAP. This included the implementation of Cross Application Time Sheets and Evaluated Receipt Settlement within the ERP system.Led Project PrOSPerity (Oxide Specialty Plant) project phase one effort and phase two. Completed preliminary design package including preliminary ISBL PFDs for the installation of a new ethoxylation reactor to improve the diversification of products and increase production capability by approximately 200MM pounds per year. Expected CAPEX spend is $200MM. The project is currently pending funding.Led HPP North America Maintenance contract initiative. Process consisted of developing the scope of service, contractor evaluation, bidding and final negotiations. The contract was effective in April 2017 and resulted in approximately $10M in annual savings.Responsible for the management of a $165MM Ethylene Oxide expansion project. Project includes a relocation of assets from an offsite location. Responsible for Dismantlement, Inspection, FEED, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, and unit Pre-Commissioning. The project was completed with over 1 million man-hours and 1 recordable incident. Unit has been successfully started and is exceeding design rates. This is the largest capital project performed by Huntsman within the US.

Responsible for the development and implementation of Huntsman Port Neches facilities Reliability and Inspection program. This included leading the site FMEAs and RCFAs efforts as well as the operating units’ scheduled Inspection and Testing outages. Also responsible for site implementation and ongoing management of RBI program. Responsible for the supervision of 7 Reliability Engineers, 3 Equipment Specialists, and Inspection Team Leader.

From 11/2007 to 3/2009, responsible for managing the Engineering Technical Services and Fixed Equipment Group following FHR's purchase of Huntsman's Port Arthur Facility. This included the management of an approximate $20MM Annual Capital and Major Expense Project. Employed by Flint Hills Resources.Responsible for the site's fixed equipment MI and reliability program. Assisted with site conversion from PASSPORT to MAXIMO.From 5/2006 until 10/2007, Rebuild Project Manager for Huntsman’s Port Arthur Facility. Responsible for the management of a $350MM plant rebuild/capital improvement project for Huntsman’s Light Olefins Unit. Responsible for complete project management, including initial fire damage assessment; contractor negotiations and selection; insurance correspondence; improvement project economical analysis, approval requisition, and execution; maintenance planning and execution; project safety (IR =0.2) and unit commissioning and subsequent start-up. Project consisted of approximately $275MM in rebuild of damaged facility, $25MM in Turnaround Maintenance, and $50MM in Capital Improvements.Following Hurricane Rita in Sept. 2005, led the successful rebuild and start-up effort of the facility. This effort was performed without a recordable injury and was the first major gulf coast chemical plant affected by the hurricane to be rebuilt. This included major repairs to the cooling towers and Plant electrical distribution system.From 6/2004 to 11/2007, responsible for managing the capital and reliability engineering programs for Huntsman’s Aromatics and Olefins facility. Responsible for all aspects of the site’s capital improvement and asset management programs, including responsibility for the development and management of the facility’s capital and expense budgets. Responsible for the site’s PSM program and compliance with OSHA 1910.119. Led a $10MM expense reduction initiative for 4 manufacturing facilities. Reported to the Site Manager.

Responsible for managing the operations of Huntsman’s Port Neches Facility. This included the Ethylene Oxides, Glycols, Surfactants, Nonylphenols, Ethanolamines, and Morpholine/ DiGlycolamine production facilities. This included all aspects of manufacturing, including production scheduling, receiving raw materials, loading finished product, maintenance and turnaround coordination, and generation of utilities required for operation. Total operating annual budget of approximately $75MM. Total annual production of 1,100MM lbs./year. All finished product is transported by truck, rail, or water. Responsible for the direction of 12 supervisors and 130 operators in a Six Sigma manufacturing environment. Six Sigma Champion and BPM trained. Reported to the Plant Manager.

Responsible for directing and managing the construction and maintenance of a petrochemical facility of approximately 600 company personnel. This involved working with five different operating superintendents, along with one engineering superintendent. The facility consisted of five operating areas: olefins and shipping; surfactants and amines; oxides and glycols; propylene oxide and MTBE; and utilities. The C&M department consisted of four direct reports divided into general maintenance, engineering, mechanical maintenance, and major planning and construction. Responsible for the direction of 4 group leaders, 8 planners, 7 engineers, 11 maintenance supervisors, 98 craftsmen, one clerk, one secretary, and approximately 100 contract personnel. Instrumental in the development of contractor control, cost control, weekly scheduling, and the utilization of a CMMS. Responsible for all aspects of construction and maintenance for the facility, including job planning, budgets, troubleshooting, and personnel development. Total maintenance budget for the facility is approximately $40MM and capital budget of approximately $20MM. Reported to the Plant Manager.

Responsible for the utilities operation of the petrochemical facility. This included the supervision of 38 operators and 3 supervisors. This consisted of the operation of 10 fired boilers with a combined capacity of approximately 1.5MMPPH 600psig steam production, along with two GE frame 6 gas turbines rated at 36 MW each. Also included the operation and treatment of 8 cooling towers, instrument and plant air systems, electrical distribution system (69kV), fuel distribution system, and nitrogen distribution system. Total fuel budget for the facility was approximately $40MM. Reported to the Plant Manager.

Superintendent of Maintenance PO/MTBE (1/95-6/95)Responsible for maintenance and construction associated with the PO/MTBE facility. This position included the supervision of four direct reports, one engineer, one planner, one maintenance supervisor, and one mechanical supervisor, along with 15 craftsmen. Reported to the Plant Manager.Mechanical Maintenance Group Leader (4/93-1/95)Responsible for directing the predictive, preventive, and breakdown maintenance efforts associated with mechanical (rotating) process equipment for three separate Huntsman operating facilities located approximately 8 miles apart. Duties included the supervision of two mechanical supervisors, three mechanical craft supervisors, and three machine shop supervisors, along with approximately 70 craftsmen. Other responsibilities included the utilization of SPC techniques to identify equipment reliability deficiencies and implement the appropriate modifications to improve equipment availability. Actively involved in the reduction of equipment parts warehouse stock inventory through the utilization of inventory consignment agreements and supplier JIT programs. Reported to the Superintendent of Construction and Maintenance.Area Maintenance /Reliability Engineer (8/89-3/93)Responsible for trouble-shooting mechanical equipment and for determining the root cause of equipment failure. Provided supervision and direction to mechanical personnel with equipment repairs as well as predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Assisted operating personnel with process improvements and equipment operating procedures. Mechanical Design Engineer (1/87-7/89)Responsible for the design and construction of petrochemical operating facilities, including: project scope development; cost estimation; economic evaluation; appropriations request; process equipment specifications; drawing review and approval; project schedule; and equipment procurement and installation.
