Completed preliminary design package including preliminary ISBL PFDs for the installation of a new ethoxylation reactor to improve the diversification of products and increase production capability by approximately 200MM pounds per year. Expected CAPEX spend is $200MM. The project is currently pending funding.Led HPP North America Maintenance contract initiative. Process consisted of developing the scope of service, contractor evaluation, bidding and final negotiations. The contract was effective in April 2017 and resulted in approximately $10M in annual savings.Responsible for the management of a $165MM Ethylene Oxide expansion project. Project includes a relocation of assets from an offsite location. Responsible for Dismantlement, Inspection, FEED, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, and unit Pre-Commissioning. The project was completed with over 1 million man-hours and 1 recordable incident. Unit has been successfully started and is exceeding design rates. This is the largest capital project performed by Huntsman within the US. -

Responsible for the management of a $350MM plant rebuild/capital improvement project for Huntsman’s Light Olefins Unit. Responsible for complete project management, including initial fire damage assessment; contractor negotiations and selection; insurance correspondence; improvement project economical analysis, approval requisition, and execution; maintenance planning and execution; project safety (IR =0.2) and unit commissioning and subsequent start-up. Project consisted of approximately $275MM in rebuild of damaged facility, $25MM in Turnaround Maintenance, and $50MM in Capital Improvements.Following Hurricane Rita in Sept. 2005, led the successful rebuild and start-up effort of the facility. This effort was performed without a recordable injury and was the first major gulf coast chemical plant affected by the hurricane to be rebuilt. This included major repairs to the cooling towers and Plant electrical distribution system.From 6/2004 to 11/2007, responsible for managing the capital and reliability engineering programs for Huntsman’s Aromatics and Olefins facility. Responsible for all aspects of the site’s capital improvement and asset management programs, including responsibility for the development and management of the facility’s capital and expense budgets. Responsible for the site’s PSM program and compliance with OSHA 1910.119. Led a $10MM expense reduction initiative for 4 manufacturing facilities. Reported to the Site Manager. -

This involved working with five different operating superintendents, along with one engineering superintendent. The facility consisted of five operating areas: olefins and shipping; surfactants and amines; oxides and glycols; propylene oxide and MTBE; and utilities. The C&M department consisted of four direct reports divided into general maintenance, engineering, mechanical maintenance, and major planning and construction. Responsible for the direction of 4 group leaders, 8 planners, 7 engineers, 11 maintenance supervisors, 98 craftsmen, one clerk, one secretary, and approximately 100 contract personnel. Instrumental in the development of contractor control, cost control, weekly scheduling, and the utilization of a CMMS. Responsible for all aspects of construction and maintenance for the facility, including job planning, budgets, troubleshooting, and personnel development. Total maintenance budget for the facility is approximately $40MM and capital budget of approximately $20MM. Reported to the Plant Manager. -

Provided supervision and direction to mechanical personnel with equipment repairs as well as predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
