Studied centrosome duplication and cilia formation using genetics and molecular biology, bioinformatics, genomics, and molecular imaging of mammalian cells. Authored several bioinformatic tools - both web and stand alone applications - to help bench scientists mine data and automate tasks.

Identified the enzyme responsible for Cullin deneddylation using in vitro biochemical assays, molecular biology, yeast genetics and phenotype analysis, proteomics, and mammalian cell culture analysis. Collaborated with seven labs specializing in bioinformatics, mass spectrometry, Drosophila genetics, Arabidopsis genetics, and chromosome analysis
