I concentrate my practice in the areas of commercial and business litigation and have significant experience handling business bankruptcies and reorganizations. I have a long history of representing Chapter 11 debtors, creditors, and creditors' committees in both corporate and individual business bankruptcies. Elected as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy in 1991, I was the first North Carolina attorney inducted into this national honorary association of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals at a ceremony held at the United States Supreme Court. I remain one of only six practicing attorneys in North Carolina, and one of two in the Eastern District of North Carolina, inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy. I am also certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Business Bankruptcy, and certified as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification, the premier national certification organization for bankruptcy and creditors’ rights attorneys.I am licensed to practice in all Federal and State courts in North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. I have frequently lectured on business bankruptcy reorganizations and related topics.
