CurrentWe design and fabricate adaptive devices for the vast percentage of our population who are silently suffering from overlooked physical limitations. We provide design and fabrication instruction to occupational therapists, healthcare professionals, family, apprentices, staff assistants, volunteers, and recipients. Our techniques are ingenious and repeatable, use readily available materials, and are part of an emerging economy. Through collaboration of the user, caretaker, and occupational therapist, our devices are purpose-built, custom-made, and foster a persistent triad relationship. Everyone wins in the fabrication process; the users who desperately need the device, the caregivers who can identify a device which lessens their intervention, and the makers who hone skills, build relationships, and develop career tracks. Above all, Adaptive Design provides purpose in meaningful work. Our products are no-cost to the user and fill an enormous vacancy in lifecare.
