I am a business focused and pragmatic security leader with a wealth of experience in finance and insurance, as well as 20+ years in diverse industries and government. I use a combination of effective communications, and management informed by deep technical experience to help organisations transform their security landscapes, reducing risk and costs while enabling the businesses to operate with assurance. I'm also a capable and passionate mentor who believes in developing people as well as technical resources.Among my most notable achievement are: - As the Technology Director for the UK government's largest security transformation programme I instituted and led a technology management office, managing BAs, engineers and architects across the entire book of work, helping the programme meet every target and gain several industry awards for leadership- As part of a security review of critical national infrastructure, I led the developmentand implementation of a system to dynamically report results, which was used as a blueprint across the organisation, enabling senior management to better understand the information and drive significant change- At a manufacturing company that was recovering from a devestating ransomware attack I led the development of a cyber strategy and roadmap that enabled them to re-build their business securely, protecting their OT as well as IT environments- I led the re-development of a major anti-financial crime platform at the National Crime Agency, significantly improving the effectiveness in detecting global money laundering and enabling the secure use of cloud within the agency- At Deutsche Bank, I developed, implemented and managed a vulnerability management process company-wide, across all software and operating systems. The accurate reporting enabled the business to make informed decisions on investment and led to a significant improvement in security posture- As Manager of Operations at an internet startup I built a 24x7 technology and customer service organisation, resulting in a profitable and reliable product
