My employment in the electrical industry commenced in 2004, as an electrical designer with Powercor Australia, from there I moved into project management roles with both Powercor (rural network) and CitiPower (urban network). Upon relocating to NSW I commenced working with an Accredited Service Provider; I now have extensive experience as an Electrical Project Manager working for both a regional authority in Victoria, and in NSW working for a contractor on the Transgrid, Ausgrid, Essential Energy and Endeavour Energy networks. In my most recent roles I have been responsible for the end to end management of electrical projects (high voltage and transmission) within the road, rail, mining, local government, utilities and private sectors. I have direct responsibility for budgets, project staffing, field crew allocations, and all aspects of WH&S and environmental compliance.My current role is as Program Manager - Transmission Lines Manager with Zinfra. This role has furthered my transmission line experience both in Victoria (on the Ausnet Network) and currently on the Transgrid Network on various projects.Specific project skills include:• Transmission feeder upgrades and new construction as principal contractor• Relocations and augmentation for road and civil projects• Make ready works and installations for NBN aerial projects• Upgrades and new supplies for specific projects• Maintenance management and fault restoration on private HV networksAs Program manager I model and encourage a flexible team environment, with a constant improvement and safety focused culture within the workplace. As Construction Manager for Zinfra, my role includes the management of internal and sub-contract resources, compliance with cultural heritage and environmental requirements, liaison with all project stakeholders including land owners and general public, client representatives, local and state government agencies, affected utility owners and other project participants. Additionally, I am responsible for maintaining a safety focussed culture by all project participants whilst ensuring the project is completed on time and to budget.The QNI Lines Uprating project is to uprate works on the 330kV Queensland - NSW interconnector (QNI). When completed, this uprating will allow a higher power transfer capability through the QNI on Lines 83, 84 and 88 between Tamworth Substation and Liddell Power Station Substation by increasing the operating temperature from 85°C to 120°C. The project scope extends some 160km from Muswellbrook to Tamworth in the Upper Hunter Valley, and involves the replacement of 58 existing towers with new steel pole structures, and additional works on 150 towers to increase conductor clearances as required.
