Oversee operations and manage the acquisitions teams within the Real Estate Equity department, develop strategic goals, and tactical execution while managing risk. Source and structure real estate equity opportunities, including JV’s, underwrite and assess markets, identify risks, and resolve issues. Foster relationships with developer/operators, other market participants, and intermediaries for single transactions or multiple transaction programmatic relationships. Coordinate closely with Client Strategy to assist with client recruitment and relationship activities, as well as with Asset Management to ensure underwritten property level strategies are being executed.

As Senior Real Estate Acquisitions Officer, Greg sources, screens, underwrites, and oversees all aspects of closing direct and joint venture equity investments in real estate. Since 2006, Greg has been responsible for direct acquisitions of commercial real estate throughout the US, and successfully completed acquisitions of office, industrial, retail, multifamily (approximately $300 million in 2019), and single tenant net leased properties.

Greg Dryden managed AEGON's Capital Markets-Special Servicing platform providing third party asset management for investors with holdings in real estate mortgage loans and commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS). AEGON’s Special Servicing team is rated by Kroll, Morningstar, Fitch and Standard & Poors. Greg and his team took the platform from formation in 2008 to #1 in market share for 1H2018 in new CMBS assignments with a total portfolio of over 75 assignments of over $36 billion.

As Vice President / Senior Acquisitions & Dispositions Officer, Greg sourced, screened, underwrote, and oversaw all aspects of closing direct equity investments in real estate. Greg was responsible for direct acquisitions of commercial real estate throughout the US, and successfully completed approximately $230 million in both individual transactions and portfolio acquisitions.

Prior to Acquisitions, Greg was AEGON’S Chief Appraiser managing a large staff of Senior Appraisers and Loan Analysts consulting on geographical markets and property types for real estate related activities and investment strategies both in the US and Internationally. Extensive travel was required to nearly every primary and secondary market, as well as most tertiary markets throughout the US and several international markets.
