Metals Chemist
CurrentProvided analytical chemical and metals analysis of routine and non-routine environmental samples for the Marshall Environmental Chemistry Laboratory.Analyzed hazardous waste, waste water and alloy samples to determine metals content using ICP-OES, ICP-MS and AA instrumentation.Researched and developed several digestion and analysis methods for non-environmental samples such as solder, newly developed alloys and proprietary oil additives.Assisted in the inorganic analysis of many different sample types. Analysis included Oil and Grease, hexavalent chromium, total solids, cyanide and others. Working knowledge of various laboratory instrumentation including balances, spectrometers and various handheld meters.Played a key role in helping the Marshall laboratory obtain NELAC accreditation in the metals lab in 2007. Re-wrote all instrumentation SOP's to meet standards, met all QC criteria and passed an on-site audit by state of Florida. Provided detailed analytical reports for each analysis that met either NELAP, ADEM, or EPA requirements based on customer's requirements. Interacted with customers on a daily basis to get an understanding of their wants and needs and provided data packages in a timely fashion.
