When I first decided to enroll in nursing school, it was mainly because of self interests. At 23 years old with some college and plenty of different majors, I had absolutely no idea what career path to take. I decided to choose a stable profession that could bring in good money, so I signed up for the BOCES nursing program.However, through my time in school, I learned a lot of things. I learned that money is not everything. When I finally had my first clinical experience, I felt a great satisfaction. Spending time with a lonely patient, holding their hand while they are going through a rough time, teaching a patient that looks to you as their source of knowledge, or the feeling you get from giving someone a smile or sense of comfort is the most rewarding part of this job. It is amazing to be able to affect the life of a patient the way only a nurse can. Being a LPN will not be easy. I have no legitimate experience, but I know this is what I am here to do.
