Served as an ACA Level IV whitewater kayaking instructor for the City of Raleigh's Adventure Program. The program offered both strict instructional courses as well as 'weekend getaways' for the city's outdoor enthusiasts. I also acted as an Assistant Instructor for Rock Climbing, Mtn. Biking, and Sea Kayaking programs.

Contracted to design and build three custom point of sale kiosks for a new cafe in the neuro-sciences wing of the hospital.

Primary responsibilities included overall project management for multiple ongoing hard goods products from conception through to production and delivery.Product development communication with clients and vendors especially to manage and meet project timelines.Development of individual Quality Control procedures and inspection forms to be used during production.Developed a variety systems including sample management procedures and tracking, project tracking spreadsheets and weekly reports, and the online project management database.Maintained critical project information including prototypes, target deadlines, overall quality, and costs.Conceptual design development in the form of sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings.Evaluation, use, and field testing of prototypes and samples to further enhance performance and quality.

Developed and maintained new and existing relationships with local creative community in a joint effort to host the 3rd annual SPARKcon event in downtown Raleigh.SPARKcon is a grassroots potluck of creativity made possible by hundreds of volunteers on a mission to showcase the creative talent in the Triangle area and establish Raleigh as the creative hub of the South.

Designed and organized activities, curriculum, and logistics for several of Broadreach's international academic courses. Led many of the trips I was responsible for planning including Pacific Whale Treks, a 30 day marine biology and sea kayaking course in British Columbia, Wilderness and Traditional Medicine, a 25 day trip in Belize focussed on training and certifying students as Wilderness First Responders through the WMA while also exposing them to centuries old traditional techniques handed down through the generations.

Worked directly with consumers in a retail environment to offer expert advice on the selection and use of a wide array of whitewater products including kayaks, paddles, pfd's, helmets, and safety equipment. Represented the organization at the 2005 Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City UT as an assistant buyer for water sports.
