I am a member of the digital communication team that runs the City of Cape Town's website and media messaging service. I am responsible for content creation and updates to all City departments and also contribute towards the City's public media campaigns, mailers and social media channels. My administrative duties include back-end SharePoint site maintenance, digital asset management and HTML coding as required within the existing CMS. I am also the administrator for the City's subcouncils websites and related services.

I am currently contracted to provide content management, web writing and editing services for the City of Cape Town's website. I am also involved in the administration of a wide cross-section of online content including Mayoral Committee profiles, line department websites and intranet subsites. In this role, I work closely with the City's Media Office and Digital Communication department, within which I am incorporated. My duties include conducting independent research as well as providing creative input on a range of City projects and media campaigns, e.g. SmartCape, the current drought crisis, the City's YouthStartCT initiative, and all major events including the Cape Town Carnival, CTICC, Fringe Festival, etc. These projects have required me to meet with high-level management including some of the City's key political figures. I enjoy the challenge and diversity of the work that I do.I have been involved in iterative website upgrades and consult with line managers and department staff to ensure that website functionality and content management strategies meet client requirements. As a member of the Digital Communication team, I work closely with designers and developers to coordinate project deliverables. In addition, I provide support to the City's other media services such as City News Online (CNO) and many other internal electronic media.

As Academic Manager I was responsible for convener and branding partner management, oversight of the department's daily operations, liaison and reporting to top company management and the management of a team of academic writers. I project managed the development of a wide range of online courses from in-house creation to public release.

I worked as an English language teacher in local government high schools in Kumamoto, Japan. In this role I was responsible for all planning, preparation and delivery of English lessons. I provided additional language and study support to staff and students and was actively involved in all aspects. I led the school's English Club and provided STEP and EIKEN support to students taking their national English examinations.

My time as a graduate English tutor was a very rewarding experience. I was responsible for presenting small-group tutorials to undergraduates. The tutorials were aimed at providing support to the core English lectures and also provided training in critical thinking and analysis from a literary perspective. I set and graded term papers and provided academic support to students during regular weekly consultation hours. I was invited to design and convene my own second-year English elective, which proved popular and was very well received. The course was titled "The Antihero in Literature and Film". In addition, I held various posts as an EFL instructor and taught foundation English to foreign students at the university's International Office.
