Greg Farley regularly serves as staff lead for California Department of Water Resources (DWR) on special projects. He currently is serving as DWR’s Liaison to the Central Valley Flood Protection Board. Greg is also on the team for the Division of Flood Management's review of the Groundwater Sustainability Plans for flood risk reduction.Greg leads DWR’s Division of Flood Management (DFM) internal communications, where he serves as an advisor to the State’s Floodplain Manager, Mike Mierzwa. In this role he helps develop DWR policy as well as DFM strategic plans and implementation plans. Greg also helps lead the Headwaters to Floodplains: Flood Safety Partnership, a partnership between DWR, CalOES, FEMA, and USACE to reduce the risk and consequences of flooding in California. In this role he facilitates the communication, collaboration and coordination with internal and external partnersGreg is also DWR’s point of contact for DFM’s work on the Delta Roundtable and the Oroville Citizens’ Advisory Committee.
