As the North American Product Manager and Senior Optical Engineer, I lead the project management for all LED fixture development from New Product Request through Final Design Review. I am responsible for coordinating with Sales and Marketing to create the customer specifications while managing engineers across disciplines to deliver product on schedule. I also continue to operate as the company’s Senior Optical Engineer • Lead project management for LED fixture development using Six Sigma principles for Military LED lamp products based on IntelliTube™ technology. This includes: o Managing Engineers across disciplines who are working across several contract or programs of their own to deliver product on schedule. o Products intended to be made in the US and products made with overseas Contract Manufacturerso Vetting out technical capabilities of potential contract manufacturers, then setting up and managing chosen ones to work with on the project• Work as a counterpart to sales and marketing to create the specifications for EFOI’s next generation LED lighting solutions for the Military and the commercial lighting retrofit markets• Provide technical expertise with sales and marketing for either specific customer requests, on site customer lunch and learns, or with any installation trouble-shooting• Perform optical design and ray trace analysis of new and existing optical designs for LED lighting products across any on-going product designs• Manage technicians and engineers in fixturing, setting up, and taking optical data required to prove out designs and concepts in accordance with experimental design practices I helped to establish• Travel frequently to industry meetings, conferences, trade shows, and vendor facilities as a technical face of the company

As the LED Systems and Senior Optical Engineer I was responsible to continue my Optical Engineering role as well as function as the technical expert regarding LED technology and system design for Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer support• Research, test, quantify and validate the state-of-the-art in LED light sources, thermal management technologies, and electrical / driver solutions• Form and maintain relationships with all major LED and related technology suppliers• Monitor the general state of the Lighting Industry particularly in regards to LED fixtures• Identify how technologies are being employed by competitors, how the market is accepting or rejecting, LED technology, and what are the industry rules and regulations that are being implemented• Attend industry conferences on behalf of EFOI to monitor and network with potential partners for proposal writing and to look for future funding opportunities• Managed the internal patent process with outside counsel and had day-to-day responsibility to manage the portfolio• Co-author and aid in technical proposal writing to fund future technologies or specific products EFOI wished to develop with monies from State or Federal agencies

As an Optical Engineer I was responsible to provide optical designs and testing from concept, prototype, and though design validation testing.• Providing optical simulations, design, prototype, and testing for all optics used in fiber optic and pool lighting products. • Assisting in the design and build of fixture prototypes to prove out concepts and validate designs• Setting up optical fixtures to allow accurate measurements of prototype and production systems• Providing repeatable and reliable data on these fixtures to allow for accurate engineering decisions to be made based on the optical design• Present technical data in clear and organized manner for Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Executives, and Customers• Co-author and aide in Technical Proposal writing to fund future technologies or specific products EFOI wishes to develop• Assist production, R&D, sales and field teams as needed to demo products with customers, travel and perform alpha installs, trouble-shoot customer returns, attend Industry events to network and identify market and technology trends

We 60-100 kids in morning sessions for third through fifth grades and afternoon sessions for sixth through eighth graders. Very rewarding experience to spend time with former coaches and helping kids understand the fundamentals of hitting a baseball.
