CurrentAPT’s mission is to advance appropriate traditional and new technologies to care for, protect, and promote the longevity of the built environment and to cultivate the exchange of knowledge throughout the international community.APT is a multi-disciplinary, international membership organization dedicated to promoting the best technology and practices for protecting historic structures. It is considered the premier worldwide network for anyone involved in the technical aspects of historic preservation.Founded in 1968 it has members from nearly 30 countries that cover a wide range of preservation-related fields and professions: preservationists, architects, engineers, conservators, consultants, contractors, craftspeople, curators, developers, educators, historians, landscape architects, students, technicians, and more!The organization manages publications, conferences, training courses, awards, student scholarships, and regional chapters. Active technical committees are focused on education, research, sustainability, codes, and ethics.
