(Java, ActiveMQ, Postgres, Tomcat, Camel, Wicket, JSON, XML, Spring, Hibernate and JDBC) Designed and implemented a steady state system that continuously updates the original temple ordinance archive of 1.7 Billion ordinances that was completed in February 2010. The archive is comprised of both a human-readable format on microfilm and a digital archive in XML format that is preserved in an XLibris archival system in the Church History department. This system is automated and is both self-validating and self-correcting.(Java, Postgres, Tomcat) Designed and implemented creation of snapshot of all of the 1.7 Billion ordinances in a Postgres database and the ability to generate a full, XML, digital archive at anytime. This system also automatically generates daily updates and automatically adds these daily updates to the digital archive. (Java, XML, JDBC) I contributed to the team startup and early design of the Emergency Archive system that is currently under development for long-term preservation of the critical temple ordinance data and genealogical data that exists in the Temple and Common Pedigree systems. (Java, RESTful web service) Designed and implemented a JAVA application to create an XML archive of all TSS temple ordinances interfacing with Tem-Ord RESTful web service.(Linux, Bash scripting)· Implemented and executed the scripts to support (throttling, monitoring, etc.) this system ran efficiently and nearly flawlessly over a three week period as a Digital archive of TSS CTRs was created in February 2010.(Java) Designed and implemented a validation application to validate all records and fields for the Film archive of TSS temple records.(Java) I worked with product managers and architects to design this data preservation system.

• (Linux, Python/Perl, Java, Windows NT)• Implemented Java modules using JDBC and SQL to provide the back end searching capability for the FamilySearch.org website (genealogy website for the LDS church). Server-side Java, JDBC and SQL.• Implemented Python scripts and SQL scripts to clean up and transform data for putting 1880 US Census and 1881 British and Canadian Censuses on the FamilySearch.org website. Linux and Python/Bash scripting.• Helped to design and implement a cluster of Linux boxes to be able to transform the census data quickly and efficiently, using distributed processing principles. The cluster processing was implemented using an NFS shared file system, and scripts to instigate the data processing. Linux and Python/Bash scripting.• Designed and implemented all support for the WorkingArea (workspace) for TempleReady for Internet. Allows users to select individuals, query the selected individual’s information from the database and calls modules which perform qualification checking and duplicate checking. All information saved to Oracle database, via JDBC and SQL.• Designed and implemented a web browser-based Password recovery system, using JSP, JNDI, JavaScript, and interfacing with LDAP and JavaMail. This system allowed a user to reset his password and generate a new temporary password and e-mail it to him. Web development, JSP, JNDI. • Worked on Search Broker and Search Agent modules that are the middleware for the database search engines of a genealogy website. Developed modules in Java and C++.

• (C, C++, Linux, Windows NT)• Designed a system that allows users to define a network server’s various statuses as “health contributors,” for a network management product that allows automatic monitoring of the “health” of each server in the network and allows for alerting when those attributes cross user-defined thresholds. Message based C++ client/server programming with SNMP. Worked on LanDesk Client Manager, designing and implementing the “health contributors” for the next version of LDCM. Wrote to Windows and Linux platforms simultaneously. C++ Programming.• Worked on a team developing an SNMP trap-based management system for nodes in a data center server rack. Wrote a Java module to access the Postgres database. This was a Linux/web-based application.

• (C++, Windows NT) doing digital signal processing for speaker identification software• Worked closely with one of the signal processing engineers on the Research and Development team, taking his speaker ID algorithms and code written in MatLab and rewriting the code, using object oriented principles, in C++• Contributed significantly to this project and was awarded a 15% merit pay increase after only three months.

• (Java, CGI, Windows NT)• Java programming, adding features and functionality to Corel Barista, a Java based publishing technology that shipped with the WordPerfect Suite. Added GIF animation and Bookmark features to Barista. Enhanced the graphics and drawing portions of Barista in Java. •• Worked on a Barista editing tool, which was a simple draw program written in Java. All Baristadevelopment was done in Java, using Java Beans technology and Symantec Café• Worked on an automatic website creation tool, called Corel NetDocs. Worked on providing searching and indexing capabilities using the Corel QuickFinder COM object. HTML and CGI programming to provide the user interface for QuickFinder.

1990 - Sep. ‘94: UNIXPorted WordPerfect to the X environment. Provided WP5.0 with basic X and Motif/Openlook functionality, using standard UNIX IPC protocols. Integrated X and Motif into a character based product for WP5.1. Modified the Motif text widget to allow for internationalization and other functionality not provided in Motif 1.2. Added X and Motif interface to WP6.0. UNIX development was done on HP720 and Sun Sparc stations, but other machines were used for porting.1989 - 1990: UNIXPorted WordPerfect 5.0 to Unix. The task involved re-writing the PC assembly code in C and making modifications for features specific to the platform. Development done on Sun workstations.
