Lead mechanical engineering team in development of lower limb prosthetic devices, with focus on mechatronic products. Also responsible for sustaining engineering of MPC products, making significant quality improvements to existing MPC knee product through design and process changes. Serve as company representative on ISO Technical Committee for prosthetic testing standards (TC 168 for ISO 10328 and ISO 22675). Led regulatory certification efforts to IEC 60601-1, ISO 14971, IEC 62366, MDD, and RoHS for multiple product development efforts. Developed and maintained Verification and Validation and Design for Excellence (DFX) processes for company. Experience with implementation of FDA Design Controls (21 CFR 820) and ISO 13485 into engineering processes.

Led mechanical development of critical care ventilator platform with team of 8+ full time engineers. Lead author of multiple utility and design patents in the field of ventilation. Drove problem solving effort and redesign of pneumatic subsystem for portable ventilator platform.

Integrated ventilator project into Covidien project management office. Maintained schedule through vendor development partnerships and utilization of international teams in India, China, and Ireland.

Mechanical engineering lead on development of new critical care ventilator platform while working at Newport Medical Instruments (acquired by Covidien in 2012). Delivered working prototype of ventilator in under a year through effective system engineering, simulation and analysis of pneumatic designs, and aggressive use of rapid prototyping.

Served as CEO of corporation and Principle Investigator on multiple R&D programs with a focus on autonomous aerial refueling systems, relative navigation, and fault detection and isolation methodologies.

Developed Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems for aerospace applications including aircraft and spacecraft.

General Motors – 2004: Coordinated the design, construction, and testing of a prototype economy engine for the Powertrain Advanced Engineering group in Pontiac, MI.General Motors – 2003: Solved advanced manufacturing problems using Red-X statistical engineering practices during the launch of the Chevrolet SSR in Lansing, MI.Race Technologies – 2002: Engineered Brembo brake systems for race and aftermarket applications.Gish Biomedical – 2001: Assisted in the development of the Vision Blood Cardioplegia System.Gish Biomedical – 2000 Assisted in new product development and developed semi-automated test station for clean room use.
