I completed a two hundred and forty hour internship with their office of emergency management. I spent my time updating 14+ local emergency response plan annexes. I also helped develop a Points of Distribution Plan and a Continuity of Operation Plan. I trained with Galveston Counties Special Need Evacuation System, and also trained to use WebEOC. I reformatted and updated their Local Mitigation Plan and helped with the initial meetings. I developed numerous power point presentations for educational and public awareness. I helped develop new ideas for their annual town hurricane meeting. I prepared numerous pamphlets for public distribution which included a mitigation survey, information regarding their blackboard connect system, and hurricane preparedness. I also researched grant opportunities and preparedness training videos for public use. I attended numerous meetings for Galveston County Emergency Managers.
