Developed strategies used to set architectural direction for multiple engineering scrum teams delivering a set of SaaS solutions using Azure services. Leveraged micro-service architecture to develop small applications to provide tangible evidence and guidance to teams solving complex data, authorization, authentication and dev-ops issues. With a focus on securing multi-tenant data through WebAPI/.NetCore micro-services, I worked with Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Blob and Table storage while researching the benefits of other storage and automation solutions including Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Functions, Elastic Pools, Analysis Services and Power BI. Highlights:- Identified architectural changes that eliminated 75% of the overall traffic during API interactions and Auth/Auth.- Researched and consulted with operations teams implementing Visual Studio Team Services Release Management. - Streamlined SQL performance increasing throughput from ~180 transactions per day to ~500K transactions per day while reducing projected Azure costs by over 80%.

Led the development and delivery of a new SaaS product on Microsoft Azure. Responsible for coordinating 70+ engineers across geo-distributed scrum teams, client support teams, documentation/training teams and product management in a DevOps environment who successfully delivered software to production every 3 weeks for over a year. Developed a browser based tool to manage multiple angles of video in a court room. The tool recorded individual streams of video and synchronized the playback of up to 6 angles of video. The tool supported live and post production indexing via both scripted and dynamic tagging providing near real-time feedback to law students. Developed using a combination of WebApi, MVC 5, AngularJs, SignalR, Entity Framework 6, SQL Server, MySQL and C++, I was responsible for the design, development, management of development resources and sales engineering.Highlights:- Built a self-hosted Restful Web API that installed as a Windows Service using C# and C++ (no IIS, Node.js or Apache required). This API provided an interface to a video encoder to spin up and control multiple video encoders through local TCP ports. The interface was used by our PHP application to access remote video encoders.- Implemented SignalR to support multi-user logging of video from an AngularJS web page.- Designed and implemented a new database to support the management and indexing of video across the organization. - Designed and implemented an XML parser to ingest live inbound data from a TCP socket into our platform using Entity Framework to both SQL Server and MySQL.- Designed and implemented a self-registration using MVC 5 and various 3rd party tools. The self-registration workflow included email address validation prior to user creation, captcha and forgotten password.- Developed a component to transcribe the audio stream to text as a component of indexing video.- Worked with various technologies to encode and manage audio/video from AXIS IP cameras.- Implemented Visual Studio Online Scrum Agile template for Product Backlog and Task Management of the team.

Hired as Data Services Manager for a small Portland based startup, I provided data architecture, modeling and performance enhancements while building an engineering team. After being promoted to Director of Engineering and building a team of 40+ engineers, saw Giftango through the merger with Atlanta based InComm Corp. As a software consultant for large scale on-line banking platforms, I was responsible for designing, developing and implementing database migrations for the largest financial institutions in the country. Migrations for these companies typically included 50M+ users, their accounts and other PII. On site consulting with client executives, security, IT and application developers was the norm. Typical migrations included technical integration with complex disparate database platforms across multiple networks via various software languages. My job was to analyze the legacy platform(s) and design/develop a path to the new on-line banking platform.Corillian was purchased by CheckFree in 2008 and later by Fiserv that same year. Internally, I was responsible for managing/mentoring the team of engineers responsible for database migrations, contract analysis, project management and technical architecture.Highlights:- Refactored Capital One’s data migration decreasing the overall duration from 17 hours to less than 1 hour.- Developed custom migration packages for Bank One in 2005 that were reused out-of-the-box in 2010.- Decreased loaded login times from 5+ seconds to 0.25 seconds for Huntington Bank.- Provided technical leadership for customers including managing implementation teams.- Managed contracts for Professional Services implementations of Online Banking software.
