I was the Geomatics Officer at the City of Yellowknife. In this role I provided GIS products, services and technical advice to internal and external clients. This included all City departments, private consultants, and the general public. Due to the large workload in this role, excellent project management skills were required. I was responsible for the management and monitoring of all datasets in the Enterprise GIS. During this process I performed updates as needed and conduct audits to ensure data integrity. The data includes but is not limited to the cadastral, water and sewer, and roads infrastructures. A large part of my role is to provide cartographic products for the above mentioned clients. This includes planning base maps, infrastructure and fire safety run books, and community services maps. Solid communication is essential in this role, to ensure that data updates are received from various departments at the City and to best determine client’s needs.
