UT Arlington: Science EducationDr. Hale has worked with in-service and pre-service science teachers since 2001. His work with in-service teachers has largely centered around his role as an instructor and program director for the College of Science's Master of Arts in interdisciplinary Science. Dr. Hale has been involved as an instructor of science courses for middle level and elementary pre-service teachers since 2002, and his involvement with pre-service secondary science and math teachers began when he was named a Co-Director of UTeach Arlington in 2009.Dr. Hale has designed many face-to-face and online courses and has taught over 160 sections at the undergraduate and graduate levels.Since being named Assistant Dean of Science in 2006, Dr. Hale has been the Principal Investigator for projects that have brought in over $4,000,000 and a Co-Principal Investigator on projects that have brought in an additional $4,600,000.Volunteer Board Work: Arlington Classics Academy, 2008-2015When Dr. Hale joined the board in 2008, ACA was a single four acre site with 430 students in grades K-6. Annual revenue was $2.5M, and the school had less than $200k cash on hand. ACA's academic rating in 2007 and 2008 was "Exemplary", the highest rating available in Texas.As of April 2015, ACA maintained the highest Texas Education Agency rating each year since 2007, and it had three schools spanning grades K-8 at two sites totaling 22 acres. Enrollment grew to 1,400 students, revenue grew to $10.8M, and ACA had $4.2M cash on hand.
