Greg Hall Qualifications: MBA, ACA, AFARelevant Work Experience: Approximately 30 years in finance industry. I started with Marac Corporation in 1983. I have held management positions in Relationship Management and Credit Management with Security Pacific Bank (sold to NZI in 1986), State Bank of South Australia, BNZ and Westpac. From 1999 until 2012 I was employed in the position of Director, Relationships with Westpac Banking Corporation and managed the Bank’s relationships with leading New Zealand companies.Specific Work Experience: negotiating all aspects of new and/or extended debt facilities from inception including debt sizing, financial covenants, security and key terms and conditions. Advising customers in respect of negotiation with other banks, refinancing other bank facilities and working with multiple banks in a debt syndicate. Working closely with other professionals including Accountants and Lawyers to achieve the appropriate result for the client. Working closely with customers in “work out” situations where loan terms and conditions may have been breached. Restructuring loan terms to provide for orderly pay down of debt and/or eventual refinance. Working closely with CEO’s, CFO’s and Board members to engender trust and extract key non negotiables in order to build a debt facility “fit for purpose”.My Approach Open communication with both customer and bank. Compromise where necessary in order to reach a mutually satisfactory position. Don’t waste time negotiating trivial or low relevance issues. Work to a timetable and keep pressure on to meet deadlines. Always work with existing Bank wherever possible. What Can I do for your Clients? Comprehensive review of Bank relationship including existing bank loan and security documents. Meet with Bank to discuss key issues and to make specific requests for loan amendments, renewals (extensions), increases Follow through negotiations to a new ‘terms sheet” and final documentation.
