My work with Atmosphere is varied. During my time with Atmosphere I have been given a wide variety of responsibilities, including, disc jockey, maintenance of customers equipment, audio technician for live events, lighting design and installation, CCTV maintenance, cable routing and installation, camera operator, video editor, IT support, training customers and clients in the use of equipment as well as assisting hire department personnel with setup, demonstration, delivery and collection of equipment.Working for Atmosphere requires me to be very flexible and to take on new challenges on a regular basis.

Current employment: Sept 2015-Present: Owner, GH Events I started my own company providing sound, light and DJ services for events and concerts. My aim is to provide an amazing show the audience will never forget.My main clients are individuals looking for entertainment for a family party, such as a wedding reception or birthday celebration. I take time before every show to ensure important details are catered to, from musical preferences to pronunciation of family names. Taking the time to get to know my clients builds a strong connection and level of trust, which yields returns in terms of customer satisfaction and a desire to recommend GH Events to their friends.The company has taken on a number of large scale performances involving many people working under my direction. The safety of employees and guests is of utmost importance. It is my responsibility to ensure all employees are trained to a suitable standard for their jobs. Training content includes stage safety, situational awareness, suspended apparatus, cable routing as well as topics regarding operation of equipment. Sept 2015-Present: Owner, GH Events (continued)The large shows require a great deal of planning and preparation to ensure the show is ready to start on time. With this in mind I have coordinated my team with other external contractors to ensure everything is ready to go with a strict deadline. This requires a large degree of problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative to address issues quickly.Notable performances so far include Hogmanay 2015/2016, the RGU Student Awards Balls 2016/2017, the RGU Graduation Balls 2016/2017, Newtonhill School Prom 2016 and a 90s dance music evening. The feedback I have received from all clients has been universally positive with multiple repeat bookings.

As part of my university degree I did two placements at Sand Monitoring Services in the Summer between third and fourth year, and again after fourth year. I was retained during my final year of university working one day a week with them.During my first placement, my responsibilities included working with a fellow placement student to design and build, from scratch a piece of industrial plant for the host company. This piece of plant would be constructed inside their premises at the Energy Development Centre in Aberdeen.My focus was on the electronic, electrical, instrumentation and control systems for this plant. I worked with the company to provide them with all the information required to make an informed decision on specification revisions, made all the drawings, sourced components, tested components, designed the SCADA system for the plant and built as much as possible the plant for them.During my final year employment and second placement my responsibilities changed. I was re-tasked to focus on research and development of new products, development of LabVIEW instruments, development of low cost, accurate current data logging equipment, understanding ultrasonic sand management equipment, repair of field assets, assistance with IT projects as required.

I hosted two shows per week on MearnsFM totaling five hours of airtime per week.I started in June 2012 with my Sunday night dance music show. Entitled Uplink the show started off taking a look and every difference genre of dance music. Over time, the show has evolved as I have gradually found my feet and found what I think works best. Now the show is focused on Hard Dance and Hard Style music. Partly because it is these kinds of music that I enjoy the most and as such are most knowledgeable about, but also because I do not know of any legal FM radio station in the UK that has regular hard dance and hard style content. I think they are two very under represented genres in the UK radio market.I quickly progressed at MearnsFM and within a few months I was voted as the Events Director, responsible for managing our roadshow equipment for providing and presenting outdoor broadcasts for MearnsFM.I have also recently started another show on MearnsFM, the Monday Drivetime show from 3pm. With another friend of mine we hope to host an informative and entertaining show, playing music people will enjoy while they are driving home or preparing their evening meals and talking about local and national issues that the people want to talk about.I had to stop working for MearnsFM to allow me to focus time on my university studies.

Flotta Oil Terminal

While working towards my SVQ L3 I was responsible for the execution of planned maintenance routines and engineering work when required to install new equipment. I primarily worked on and among oilfield instrumentation, rotating equipment, lighting and transformation apparatus all within a highly complex terminal.As part of my time served on Flotta I gained my Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations Level 1 certificate as well as undertaking First Aid training, Hydrogen Sulphide training, Manual Handling training and Escape Apparatus training.
