I assist customers in designing software based on business, process, and management requirements. I document these requirements using a mixture of value stream maps and uniform modeling language (UML) models. I play a central role in the implementation and testing of new software. I play a continuous support role once implementation is complete.I have expert knowledge in the concepts of lean manufacturing which is extremely beneficial since most of our customers are manufactures.

I accept a leadership role for an overworked and exhausted IT team during a disastrous new plant start-up. The IT department received emergency support requests around-the-clock. Even routine operations such as label scanning and printing failed constantly. Under my leadership, we built an IT system that performed remarkably. We researched and replaced inferior systems with higher performing redundant systems. From large-scale projects like reducing the number of servers from 27 to 7 using VMware; to simple projects such as pooling label printers, we helped bring stability to the company.Within one year, my team had virtually eliminated after hour support calls and we turned a reactive environment into a proactive environment where planning and execution took the place of hourly “fire fighting”.

Manage three supervisors (Transportation Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor and Customer Service Supervisor) and 70 personnel (administrative and labor).Interview, hire, discipline and terminate unit personnel as necessary.Support prescribed programs in health and safety, quality (including ISO implementation and registration), training and development, compensation and benefits for all employees in the unit.Apply concepts of "Lean Manufacturing" to reduce cost, turn around out-of-control processes and accelerate productivity. Guide and assist subordinates in solving operational problems; e.g. order management and scheduling, quality problems, and introduction of reengineered procedures.Reduced outbound freight costs by 18 percent during FY 2001 resulting in $440,000 in savings by implementing a load consolidation and fleet management software.Reduced return material authorizations (RMA) as the result of order entry errors from .24 percent to .15 percent during FY 2001 resulting in improved custom satisfaction and saving the company $30,333. Reduced RMA errors for FY 2002 to .01 percent resulting in an annualized savings of $107,289.Reduced indirect labor costs in shipping department from .80 percent of sales to .69 percent of sales in FY 2001 resulting in labor savings of $72,000.Participate with management in the development of long-term production forecasting through the analysis of past operating data and the development of future production scenarios.Act as liaison between sales units and operating/production units. Keeping key sales personnel updated on current production schedules and production aware of current sales demand.Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the Order Fulfillment Center, including developing and maintaining a $17.8 million unit budget.
