Conducted data analysis in R and Stata to understand the voting behavior of young people in Mexico; contacted Mexican government offices to obtain education and electoral data, and used geospatial information to link schools and voting districts; conducted power calculations to define required sample size and contributed to the survey design; merged survey data with macro-level variables scraped from hundreds of webpages using the rvest package in R.

-Provided analysis to help the World Bank guide policy in countries with large refugee populations. Estimated the effects of the arrival of internally displaced populations on urban host communities in Colombia. Used Two Stage Least Squares to estimate the impact on housing prices, poverty rates, and public investments. Built a database from hundreds of raw data files using data dictionaries in Stata. -Estimated the effect of neighborhood violence on student outcomes and teacher turnover in Medellin, Colombia. I georeferenced addresses for all homicides and public schools in the city from 2006-2013, built a school-level indicator of exposure to violence using ArcGIS, created maps and graphics for data visualization, and wrote Stata programs to run statistical regressions.-Estimated the effect of a criminal justice reform on crime rates using a differences-in-differences model. Identified data sources, contacted government agencies to collect the necessary data, and built the database to be analyzed. Wrote Stata programs to verify model assumptions, visualize data, and run regressions.
