Having collaborated with DR Horton on projects over the past 10 years, the time was right to join America's #1 Builder. Over the last decade we have collaborated to elevate DR Horton as the premier master planned community builder in Utah. Greg is able to draw upon more than 22 years of experience working on large-scale planning projects around the world; from Saudi Arabia to California, Florida to Vietnam. Experience in such diverse places, analyzing the components that constitute community and culture, has provided some critical insight into how planning concepts must reflect and respond to context.The roots of Greg's design philosophy can be traced to his undergraduate education at the University of Utah, where he earned a degree in architecture with an emphasis in historic preservation. His graduate studies in landscape architecture and environmental planning at Utah State University provided a strong ecologically based approach to community design. Greg has had extensive experience with the full spectrum of planning approaches. He pioneered a land use carrying capacity modeling tool in the late 90’s that has had broad application around the world. More recently he has been involved with form-based code preparation and design.In the 2010s Greg worked directly with Andres Duany, Matt Lambert, and the DPZ staff; and Nathan Norris and Howard Blackson and others from PlaceMakers on form-based codes in Utah. Greg has established himself as one of the most experienced practitioners with the Smart Code in Utah. Most recently Greg completed the Master Plan and entitlements for Sandy Stadium Village, a large transit oriented development anchored by the Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. Over the past few months with DR Horton Greg has been working on a handful of large planned communities in Saratoga Springs, Lehi, and Salem.
