Working with a small team to design and build components to customize classic american cars; utilizing traditional metal-shaping techniques and TIG welding as well as modern technologies like CAD modeling, 3D-scanning, and additive-manufacturing to build one-off assemblies. Responsibilies range from producing sand-casting patterns, to programming and setting up 3-axis CNC mills to create bespoke components and small-run production parts.

Managing multiple CNC mills to produce assemblies of motorcycle racing components; setting up and ‘proving-out’ new programs. Checking tolerances and making adjustments to programs to correct and compensate as well as refining procedures to maximize efficiency. Overseeing inventory control and scheduling parts to be machined, while also creating guidelinesto insure that assemblies are packaged correctly, and orders are accurate and shipped promptly. Operating and Maintaining Haas 3-axis CNC mills and lathes. Making various adjustments to the machining characteristics to create precise motorcycle racing parts for consumers, as well as the national professional racers on the Vortex factory racing teams. Managing the staff of the warehouse, overseeing inventory control and scheduling parts to be machined, while also creating guidelines to insure that assemblies are packaged correctly, and orders are accurate and shipped promptly.

Designing and fabricating motorcycle and automotive parts that increase performance, as well as achieve the aesthetic desired by the customer. Forming compound curves and complex shapes out of sheet metal. Building structural components such as engine mounts and suspension systems from raw materials. Engine tuning, and light machine work.

Assisting architecture and design students with their assignments. Helping students use machinery properly and safely. Offering suggestions for how to best accomplish their desired results.
