I worked as part of the Capital Projects team in the Trust, delivering projects to meet the needs of a successful and highly regarded Foundation Trust. I have successfully delivered a 2 storey modular 32 bed ward building to a value of £4.1million, refurbishment of the Central Delivery Suite (Maternity) and the Parkside Private Patients Suite.

I have been employed with this practice as an Architect and Drawing Office Manager. The practice primarily works on adaptations for the disabled and small commercial schemes with my involvement in notable projects including refurbishment of a grade II listed building for Headway – The Brain Injury Association and an extension to a private dwelling within one of Nottingham’s conservation areas. This role has involved carrying out projects at all RIBA work stages.

As part of the compensation team, I have been working with this firm of Chartered Surveyors on the Nottingham NET Phase Two Tram Project liaising closely with Nottingham City Council and Tram Link to help deliver the scheme and provide drawings to accompany the appropriate notices. Other responsibilities have included preparing designs for outline planning schemes on brown field sites/former electricity substation sites and preparing legal easement plans for utilities.

I was part of this practice for over 5 years, beginning as a part 1 graduate and continuing my education on a part-time basis whilst employed by the practice until completion of Part III in 2010. Unfortunately, the practice suffered insolvency in early 2011, leading to my redundancy. Working in a small Architectural Practice, responsibilities reflected all elements of the building process. These included dimensional surveys, feasibility studies and preliminary designs, planning and building regulations drawings and applications, specification writing, contract supervision and site monitoring.
