-Automate manufacturing equipment systems for Batch and Continuous Processes using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) computer technologies, paying close attention to detail.- Design / develop software applications from Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) using ISA symbology conventions as a sole specification. This employs a wide application of theories, concepts, and principles in identifying customer needs.- Initiate contact with potential customers and develop scopes of work, where I participate with the customer in the strategic design process and translate business needs into technical systems solutions. This task requires integrating hardware, software, and the customer.- Estimate time and material for pricing of control systems using software tools.- Coordinate project meetings, quote letters, control system changeover plans, problem prevention, work schedules, equipment orders, billing milestones, and design of quality control and test procedures to ensure deliverables meet established design and performance goals.- Design electrical and mechanical specifications for custom and stock control enclosures & backpanels using CAD tool.- Design and direct electrical installations following requirements of ISA, NEC & UL for MCCs, control enclosures & plant conduit and cabling with AutoCAD.- Perform on-site installation and startup of control equipment in coordination with other vendors and customer representatives, conducting problem solving and troubleshooting on a continual basis.- Train operations personnel for basic operation and diagnostics of control system equipment.- Create reports of raw material usage, batch production, & SPC data with software tools.- Complete documentation for all aspects of project during design, implementation and final stages for compliance, ensuring technical correctness and completeness of the integrated systems design.- Develop information technology architecture and total systems solutions using system overviews and other driving documents to create functional specification.- Named Engineering Salesperson of the Year for 1999 by management at Techno-Mation,Inc.
