About Greg Inglis

I have always had a passion for all things geospatial and worked towards having a career in this space since I was a teenager. I have spent over 19 years working in the geospatial industry in the UK and Australia primarily within the retail, marketing, advertising, media and logistics industries. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) has been a core element of my career to date including data capture, geocoding, demographic data analysis and high quality map production. A core focus of my career over the last few years has been managing a high performing GIS team who specialise in the deployment of QGIS and tools developed with Python. These automated tools are designed to streamline repetitive and laborious tasks and reduce business inefficiencies. This development work has also included database design, development and implementation.I have been at Location IQ, based in Sydney, since 2009 and have applied my GIS expertise to many of the key services that Location IQ offers. More recently Location IQ has moved into the web mapping space and I have been heavily involved in the product management and development of iqcensus.com and iqeconomy.com
