Started at Goffs-Churchgate where I was responsible for small groups of targeted year 11 students who needed extra practice to aid with their GCSE’s. All targeted students achieved at least a pass at GCSE. Transferred to Goffs Academy and became a form tutor and took on a full teaching timetable. Responsibilities included organising workload for the classes, managing and reporting the data for each individual student through a variety of different programs. Volunteered with the running of a few trips including taking students to the World Canoe Slalom Finals.

I took a break from teaching to spend 6 months travelling around the world, visiting countries such as USA, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. I had the chance to meet lots of new people from lots of new places and try foods and activities I never would have tried otherwise. The trip required a combination of advanced planning and budgeting whilst also giving myself the chance to remain flexible should new opportunities arise.

As a teacher I was responsible for managing the data for each student in my classes and ensuring that the class was progressing through the agreed curriculum. Other responsibilities included being a year 7 form tutor, contributing to the running of a weekly science club, assisting with the running of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver awards for years 9, 10 & 12, helped out on a variety of other school trips.

Responsibilities mainly focused on helping a variety of children with different learning difficulties in science lessons and occasionally other subjects, volunteered to help out with the daily homework club and reading groups as well as helping the weekly science club. Assisted with the running of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver awards for years 10 and 12, helped out on a variety of other school trips.

Worked in a summer camp in the USA teaching soccer as part of a team to boys and girls aged 6-16. Part of my role was to look after a group of 11 – 12 year old boys on a day to day basis in a shared bunk-house outside of teaching. Completed second summer on invitation and invited back for a third summer.
