Assisting ConocoPhillips to design new oil development (Willow) on the North Slope Alaska.ExxonMobil Hebron Drilling Rig: Provided two years project management and technical assistance to the Hebron Project Team related to the drilling equipment and the integration of the rig to the gravity-based platform. Scope included managing drilling equipment design and fabrication, technical specifications, equipment delivery and documentation. Husky Energy White Rose Drilling Rig: Provided year and a half of project management and technical assistance as a Package Engineer related to drilling equipment and the integration of the rig to the offshore structure. Scope included managing drilling equipment design and fabrication, technical specifications, equipment delivery and documentation. ExxonMobile (Halliburton Drilling Systems): Commissioned to review Halliburton cementing and mixing systems and ready them for installation on the ExxonMobil Hebron project. Year and a half of traveling to Duncan, Oklahoma to Halliburton’s manufacturing facility and to the clients offices in Newfoundland. Project Management (Rig Upgrade and Installation): Managed every aspect of the upgrade and installation of a 2000 hp platform rig for Nabors/ConocoPhillips Offshore Malaysia in an isolated setting. BP Trinidad Drilling Program Strategy: Commissioned to develop a comprehensive study for BP Trinidad to align their rig strategy with their long-term drilling program through the year 2012. Transocean Controls. Developed cutting edge control systems to replace current controls for Transocean. Rig Solutions Woodside Energy: Commissioned to provide comprehensive engineering and commercial studies determining the best suited rig(s) to drill Woodside Energy, Ltd. Western Australia offshore developments. The studies include reviews of platform rigs, jack-ups, semisubmersibles as well as facilitating a new Multi-Purpose Tender Assist Drilling rig that would match the needs of Woodside drilling program. A bid tender was developed to get rig contractor proposals on a Multi-Purpose Tender drilling rig. The tender was designed and presented to fabricators for quotation.

Sea Technology was founded in 2005 to provide offshore systems that reduced weight and footprint of commonly used equipment on drilling rigs, FPSOs, Semis and Platforms. The equipment was designed, manufactured and installed by Sea Technology. Most of the rig contractors have installed Sea Technology deepwell deployment systems on their rigs. Sea Technology is still an ongoing entity and was bought in 2013 by Drew Marine, a large offshore equipment provider.

Assisted the deepwater team in initiating their Gulf of Mexico deepwater program. Specified drilling equipment. Assisted with well permits. Supported contracting and procurement process for the GOM deepwater Drilling Program.

Commissioned by BP to evaluate drilling equipment associated with drilling wells up to 20,000 psi with emphasis on deepwater. Two years of studies and reports were presented to BP with concluding analysis.

Deepwater Well Intervention Rig: hired to develop the drilling package system and deepwater well intervention vessel for Maersk. Specified and designed drilling systems, close involvement with Huisman and the interfacing of their derrick tower, equipment set and riser handling system.

BP Alaska Bid Tender: Nautilus was commissioned by BP Exploration Alaska (BPXA), Inc. to provide a comprehensive FEED Concept for the purpose of developing rig specifications and finding the most cost effective solution to develop BPXA’s North Slope assets. The purpose of this commissioning was to develop a rig design competition via a unique bid tender process to attract fresh looks at breaking through the captive niche market of rig providers on the North Slope.

BP Trinidad Drilling Program Strategy: Nautilus was commissioned to develop a comprehensive study for BP Trinidad to align their rig strategy with their long term drilling program through the year 2012. This study consisted of reviewing existing and planned well characteristics, classify well types, determining rig types to drill each well class and planning an optimum rig schedule to drill the roughly 108 wells. Economic cost savings for various rig options were analyzed to determine the most economical rig solutions and deployment timing.

Commissioned to upgrade and refurbish a 2,000 hp platform rig to developConocoPhillip’s Indonesian oil and gas fields. Nautilus designed and oversaw the projectfrom start to finish. Many new design features went into the rig to enable a high degreeof operating efficiencies. Light-weight quarters were designed and built, a new solidscontrol system was designed along with a skidding system that allowed the entire rig tomove from well to well.

Commissioned to enhance Ensco's offshore Jack-Up drilling rig fleet with new technology that reduced weight (variable deck load) and increased operating efficiencies. Designed new tools and provided cost savings studies.

Examples include:Planned, budgeted and designed the equipment to upgrade several offshore rigs with various International Operators. Coordinated importation, construction and testing. Led integration of drilling equipment into the workover rigs to drill extended reach wells. Design deepwater dynamic platform rigs and assist deepwater Operators in the top deck design of floating SPARS and TLP platforms. Designed and implemented two innovative 1,000 hp deepwater rigs. Built, assembled and installed minimal space 240 kip capacity workover/sidetrack offshore rig for Vastar. Performed on over 40 platforms in 4 years without interruption.

Formerly Panhandle Eastern / Texas Eastern CorporationConducted in-depth reservoir engineering studies on well log, pressure & rate decline analysis, volumetric and reservoir simulation models. Prepared gas reserve estimates and deliverability forecasts. On-site well construction management with drilling consultants primarily along the Texas coast and West Louisiana.

Hired out of college to assist the Exploration and Production division to prepare budget and drilling reports and well construction design. Interpreted offshore regulatory codes, planned drilling rig refurbishments and drafted drawings for pipe schematics and equipment installation. Offshore duties on rig included all levels of employment from Roustabout through Toolpusher and Company Man.
