Greg’s experience also includes commissioning and start-up of control systems for turbo-machinery and compressors in a wide variety of applications and industries. This experience includes large industrial power generation (400 MW), power recovery trains including main air blowers, LNG plants, fertilizer plants. Start-up experience includes specialization in technical control system troubleshooting, grounding problems, field signal noise, communications and DCS integration issues. Field engineer for company that developed software systems for the pharmecutical industry. I worked with the PDP-11 processors and hardware platforms. Also worked on some video components.

Briefly worked at R&D Industries developing Z80 based control system for continuous flow grain dryers. Algorithms include speed monitoring and control of the blower fan, temperature control and flow control of the grain. Had to watch for plenum pressure to ensure grain did not get hung up in the dryer.

Developed custom DC brushless motor with commutation algorithm and hardware. Worked on Z80 code for motor control for motion and articulation of the robotic arm. Fun work and we had to build everything from scratch. Motor, windings, gearing, PCB's, motor drivers, PAL's for commutation of the motor.
