I had the opportunity to leave sales and marketing for a bit to pursue my art business full time while raising my son as a stay at home dad for 9-years. The challenge of constantly creating new artwork that is appealing enough for someone to purchase while finding other ways of generating revenue with my art to pay bills, was extremely demanding but rewarding. In between running my son around as a dad taxi, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and other domestic duties, I was able to establish a successful art business. I did wine and canvas painting parties, art shows, and created art programs working with a few non-profit cancer related businesses and illustrated a few children's books addressing what cancer is exactly to children of various ages with Cancer Connection of Northwest Ohio. I also created monthly painting programs in multiple nursing homes and The Hickman Cancer Center inside Promedica Healthcare's Flower Hospital. The program allowed patients along with the person of their choosing to create a painting with me step by step at no cost to them.
