Worked in industrial electronics (mainly PLCs) since 1981. Worked for Texas Instruments as troubleshooting/repair technician at component-level circuits, and electronics engineering tech for new products. Wrote assembly language and QuickBASIC programs, entered schematics, bread-boarded new designs, tested, and maintained industrial electronics products. Also, worked as a PLC maintenance tech for NRF, Inc, for 2 years. Also, worked as Technical Support (included fieldwork) for Siemens Industrial Automation for 8 years. This included answering technical questions in tech support (email, chat, phone, etc.) as well as traveling to customer sites and troubleshooting PLC and networking issues for Siemens PLCs (Simatic S5/S7). Since 2002, worked at Host Engineering, Inc., as lead technical support for our PLC products (DirectSOFT, Do-more Designer, Do-more PLCs), training Automation Direct technical support techs, generating videos, PowerPoint, FAQs for our website, and tech support on many forms of media (live chat, email, phone, etc.).
