Innovative and logically minded, I have years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. I have made millions of dollars for companies by finding ways to gain distribution and space in very competitive environments. With a strong sales background (calling on stores and key accounts) my career naturally led into category management. Because of growing data sources, category management continues to evolve and with the advent of Big Data it is vital to the success of CPG organizations. I find it intellectually stimulating and rewarding to use this knowledge to identify oppotunities that lead to profitable programs at retail. While serving as a Category Development Analyst for Wrigley, I was able to create shelving programs that allowed Kroger’s western divisions to outperform the remaining divisions in the candy category. This led to our successful bid for category captain at Kroger corporate. In my last year in this role I was able to increase total points of distribution by 15%, gaining 8.3 average items on shelf which was 167% of goal yielding $8M in POS sales.I’ve also had the privilege of building an analytics department from scratch resulting in a team of a dozen analysts leveraged against 4 distinct business areas. Whether it is leading a team or just being a player, I enjoy the rewards a good category team can achieve.Expertise areas: Space Management/Assortment, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), Category Management, Syndicated & POS data, Sales, Selling, Negotiation
