I design and implement wholesale market strategies for the operation of a solar + storage resource operating in the CAISO market and work to identify market opportunities for future development.

Through Wero.co I provided consulting services in the areas of electric markets, energy efficiency, demand response and renewable energy. My primary clients were electric utilities seeking to implement demand-side management, as well as private companies seeking to implement projects or scale residential and commercial customer-facing solutions affecting energy use or providing energy savings.

I provided consulting services in energy efficiency and demand response to utility clients in North America primarily through my on-going relationship with Frontier Associates.

Frontier Associates specializes in utility energy efficiency program design, implementation, administration, and measurement and verification analysis. As a Senior Associate at Frontier, I developed special expertise in engineering analysis for assessing energy savings from residential and commercial sector energy efficiency programs and in demand-side participation in the Texas wholesale electricity market operated by ERCOT. I performed various functions:- project management- business development- engineering analysis, including creation of "deemed savings" for energy efficient equipment upgrades, residential and commercial building simulation modeling- benefit cost analysis, including application of various utility-specific measures- meter data analysis, particularly smart meter data.

I worked in LCRA's water supply planning group. Our group was responsible for administering the water management plan and evaluating the impacts of changing water use on the firm supply of the LCRA system. My primary functions at LCRA were the following:- hydrologic modeling. I worked on the development and implementation of hydrologic models in RiverWare and Oasis, both of which had the capability to implement policies to administer the system according to the complex system of water rights, instream flow requirements, and bay and estuary flows that govern LCRA's administration of the system. - Region K planning. I provided support to the development of the regional plan for the lower Colorado River basin, which forms part of the state water plan.- Water use monitoring. I developed a database for historical water use data, used for annual reporting and historical analysis of water use in the LCR system. - Bank Losses. I developed a method for evaluating the charging of the river associated with large releases of water for downstream users, and estimated associated water loss due to bank charging and evapotranspiration.- Forced Evaporation. I developed an improved method for estimating consumptive water use from power plants receiving water supply from LCRA.

As a design engineer at O'Brien & Gere Engineers I performed the following functions:- Hydraulic modeling of water distribution systems (DC WASA, Alexandria, VA, and Anne Arundel County). Modeling was performed to identify and prioritize distribution infrastructure improvements, pressure zone adjustments, and test new developments for fire flow adequacy.- Water and Sewer Master Planning. Primary client for this effort was Anne Arundel County.- Water Conservation Plan (Total Water Management). Primary client for this effort was the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

I led the infrastructure (water, roads, housing) component of this Honduran Non-Profit Organization's efforts to help rural communities re-build after Hurricane Mitch, a particularly devastating storm. Primary responsibilities included overseeing a $500,000 grant from a German agency called Diakonie, with which we built and/or rehabilitated 18 water systems in various parts of the country.
