Leading Maine Big Night (MBN). Coordinating hundreds of volunteers around the state every spring for data collecting on amphibians in roadways. Coordinating efforts to research and protect wildlife in roads. Working with partners around the state and country to improve conservation outcomes. Using GIS, statistics, and structured decision making for planning, research, and assessment. Nonprofit management, stakeholder engagement, and fundraising.

Assessing infrastructure methods and their impacts on all major taxa of wildlife in the state. Compiling and recommending methods on shoreline stabilization techniques using structured decision making methods.

Performing GIS analyses for turtle habitat use using ArcGIS Pro. Includes data QA/QC, validation, and developing/answering research questions about threatened turtle biology and conservation needs. Also includes telemetry fieldwork.

Instructing and designing Vertebrate Biology labs, instructing BIO200 labs.

Conducted point-counts throughout the state, identifying birds visually and by call/song with simultaneous habitat assessments and evaluations of breeding behaviors. Performed atlasing expeditions in back-country conditions by car, on foot, and by kayak, often overnight.

Oversaw field components of the Unity College Wood Turtle Project, including leading, training, and scheduling a small field crew, weekly population surveys and habitat assessments via telemetry, and maintenance of a fleet of camera traps for nesting surveys. Also established and maintained landowner relations with private and commercial landowners and produced weekly reports on crew activities.

Assisted in multiple herpetological research and other projects, including:Reptile and Amphibian Monitoring Study (RAMS): Monitored and maintained cover-board arrays to survey for salamander and snake species. Included collecting environmental data and variation of cover type to determine environmental influences of herp behavior, presence, etc. Included some landowner outreach.American Chestnut restoration: Cleaned hundreds of pots for chestnut germination, planted American Chestnut saplings, and participated in the maintenance of experimental orchards for restoration of American Chestnut trees.Wood Turtle surveys: Trained in region-wide survey protocol for Wood Turtles. Surveys began in 2015 and continued every spring and fall. Turtles were marked and some tagged with VHF radio-transmitters. Radio-telemetry occurred weekly and involved habitat assessments.Museum maintenance and updating: Catalogued and updated school's herpetological museum collection. Ordered jars and preservation material, fixed/"pickled" specimens, created labeling system, and maintained database.

Sampled Green Frogs for ranavirus and chytrid fungus pathogens. Collected and analyzed soil and water samples for pesticides and heavy metals. Maintained strict biosecurity protocols. Preserved and cultured disease and microbial samples in lab settings. Collected cortisol samples. Worked as a member of an inter-agency team with Colby College in fast-paced environments, often in very buggy conditions at night.

Wild Turkey fieldwork including capture site prep, captures, tagging, banding, morphometric measurements, and blood collection, as well as telemetry, GPS navigation, and necropsies.

Worked as a paid boat inspector at the Unity Pond/Lake Winnecook boat launch. Inspected watercraft and equipment for invasive aquatic plants. Identified aquatic plants and fish species. Packaged and shipped specimen samples. Collected fees and enforced beach/boat launch policies. Performed beach cleanup and outreach to multiple backgrounds. Presented season data to local citizens.

Involved using snowmobiles to reach remote locations on frozen lakes and marshes, identifying egg species, identifying successful hatches, and providing any necessary maintenance (replacing damaged/vandalized boxes, refreshing nesting material, etc.).Maintained large data sets. Operated across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Periscope. Utilized photos, video, live video, hashtags, and text in material. Met weekly content quotas.
