Zompopero Hydroelectric Company is a firm dedicated to the engineering andconstruction of small hydropower stations (1 MW to 20 MW). HS-Zompopero is a daily regulated, 30-foot high gravity dam, with a closed coupled power station. It has a maximum generation capacity of 14 MW. The site is located in Honduras and will bring power, jobs, social and spiritual impact to the local community.The project is currently in its pre-construction phase, with construction scheduled to begin in January 2017, lasting approximately two years.The spiritual plan includes working with churches to improve their existing physical infrastructure aswell as their presence in the community. We are also partnering with Heart to Honduras toprovide youth camps for the kids living close to our projects. We will also continue to supporta seminary that has recently graduated 27 students and has planted 13 new churchesin the last year.It is anticipated that 200 workers will be employed during construction at an annual wageof $4,800 up from their current wages of $800 per year. After construction there will be 20permanent new jobs created to operate the project on a long term basis. The social capital plan will include investing $300,000 of monies from Zompopero Energy along with a matching grant from other NGO’s of $300,000 that will allow us to meet several major needs for two villages that are next to the project.
