CurrentRotor & Transmission & Airframe & Systems design support for material selections and materials processing requirements for prototype, production, and field support helicopter programs. Materials & Process Engineering review of drawings and provide interpretation of air vehicle control documentation for other engineering functional groups and suppliers. Prepare detail & assembly drawing notes from raw material specifications, part processing, part inspection, and application of coatings and finishes to meet design & environmental program criteria. Materials and processes for high cycle fatigue loaded dynamic systems components using corrosion resistant precipitation hardened steels, titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, copper based and high strength steel bearing alloys. Notes prepared for raw material forms in sheet, plate, bar, forgings, and castings and related requirements for mechanical testing, NDE, process controls, corrosion protection, and anti-wear & fretting coatings. Accomplishments: Developed unique thermal processes for the manufacture of large diameter titanium bolts currently in use on flight test aircraft leading to patent filing. Performed integrated circuit board processing optimization for electronic control equipment for first flight qualification after repeated failing of Mil-Std-810 humidity and salt fog testing. Performed on-site Navy maintenance depot review of fielded aircraft for corrosion assessment. Prepared multiple corrosion improvement recommendations for high maintenance cost driver components leading to customer approval for implementation.Use of CATIA 5.8 and electronic format field sheet drawing review MatrixOne software for Materials & Process Engineering review and signature for new drawing release, engineering Class I and II changes.
