Skill Summary 2023Working on migration to Business Central from an old ERP system. Difficult task but a huge amount of knowledge gained. Currently working on set up processes (not coding) to ensure all the business functions work correctly in the new system. It's a complicated area as it involves every business function from Vendor set up, credit control, purchasing stock, costing models, trade routes, transit orders, warehouse receipt, bonded warehousing using links to CDS via 3rd party software (HMRC), picking and so on. An immense system that once live will enable me to link BC to our telephone systems, websites, stores and much much more.2022 - OngoingPromotion to operations director. Taking ownership of operations and costs associated with the business, GAP analysis and work on the fix. A broad spectrum role that in the main just needs common sense and commercial acumen to see where we are falling short and to sort out a fix. Sorting out IT contracts, site security, servers and so on.2017 - 2022eCommerce manager for B2C garden centre. This role was great for new skills. I firmly believe you cannot manage something if you do not understand it. This meant a crash course in website design, google analytics, google AdWords, marketing, site speed, SEO and so on. In addition to selling on other platforms like Amazon, eBay and others which requires its own skill set. Website platforms: Magento and WordPress. 2015Moving premises. A project to move the business from one location to another. Obtaining offices and warehouses, getting in contractors to get them fit for purpose, planning a smooth transition. Great for a broad range of skills in planning and negotiation.2010 - 2017Quality Assurance Manager: Everything to do with ethical and quality sourcing from overseas factories to sell to the EU, US and UK. A great role for learning manufacturing processes, testing standards, factory auditing (both ethical and quality) and linking this into our buying and supply chain process.
